A Better Workplace

1. Branding:

As a new product in an ocean of user-journey tools, Dopt wasn’t afraid to immediately show who they were.

I worked directly with Dopt's co-founders, Phil and Alon, to bring Dopt's brand to life. I brought on my friends at Planthouse Studio for some extra firepower.
We approached the brand with iteration in mind, treating it as Dopt’s first set of clothes— expressive and stylish, but not overly constraining. This allows plenty of wiggle room for Dopt to evolve over time, and for the brand to adapt with it.

Dopt’s visual brand system is anchored by growth and exploration. It’s constructed to be bold, playful and human, and designed to give the team room to expand as the product evolves.

The Dopt logo is a dynamic wordmark, inspired by the metaphor of building blocks that can be rearranged or stacked.

It uses a unique dropshadow to hint at the product’s connection between the layers of the UI.

A vibrant and energetic palette breathes life into the Dopt brand and allows it to show up differently across various executions. And especially against the competition.

As a developer focused tool, Dopt shows a lot of code to speak to it’s audience. This was an opportunity to subtly bring the brand into the conversation while literally speaking their language. We created a color theme for light and dark syntax highlighting. VCTR Mono was chosen as the typeface to represent code in application.

We created a system of brand icons and gestures that can be used in partnership with the Dopt Blocks. These icons can help indicate actions by users, such as clicking, grabbing, approving, or just vibing.

Blocks can be used to convey action statements that reveal some of the product’s abilities. Blocks can be paired with gestures to visually tell stories.

Shane was a joy to work with.  He helped us refine what values we wanted our brand to stand for and translated them into a system that feels true to us: clean, exciting, and bold.

Throughout the process, Shane and his team pushed the brand with creative ideas and were super easy to collaborate with.  The result is a unique brand identity that stood the test of countless iterations, we enjoy creating with, and that our customers love. - Phil Vander Broek
